TEENS SUNDAY SCHOOL
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Tim 3:14, 15).
We want to praise and thank our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for preserving our teenagers and for teaching these precious children from the time they were little, to make them wise unto salvation through their faith in Him alone. We are grateful that the Lord directs our Pastor, Rev Dr Jeffrey Khoo, to choose the Teens Sunday School materials. The teenagers have over the years completed studying books written by our beloved, late Pastor, Rev Dr Timothy Tow, and have systematically studied the Bible with the help of these books. Now they are studying the Minor Prophets and will be finishing the series by May 2013. From June 2013, the teens will be put into two classes—the Lower Secondary and the Upper Secondary. They will be studying the book of Genesis with study notes compiled by Rev Stephen Khoo.
We pray that the Lord God, our Heavenly Father, will grant the teachers wisdom and faithfulness to teach these precious teens to interpret and apply the Word of Truth rightly in their lives (2 Tim 2:15).
We pray that all the teenagers will purpose in their hearts to come to study God’s Word between 9.15 am and 10.15 am on Sundays and will apply all they have learnt from the Bible in their lives so that others seeing their good works will glorify their Father which is in Heaven. Mrs Jenny Kan

I thank God for the ministry of the Teens Sunday School whereby the teens are able to gather together in the morning every Sunday to study God’s Word faithfully with God- fearing teachers. I’ve been truly blessed by the lessons I learned here as they are relevant to me and I can apply them in my life. Studying the Minor Prophets now, I am reminded that the message to them then is also for us now. Junji
When I was in Secondary One, one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to attend Sunday School regularly. The lessons have really been a blessing because I realized how perfect God’s plans are. From the book of Daniel, I learnt that we should stay faithful to God in the midst of adversity through the examples of Daniel and his three friends. I also learnt about the many prophecies that have been fulfilled and prophecies of the end times. They came in handy when one day my classmate suddenly asked me if prophecies from the Bible are real. I tried to explain to her from the example of the book of Daniel and she was interested to know more. In the end, I managed to share the gospel with her, though she was not keen on coming to church. Nevertheless, I thank God for helping me to learn so much from Sunday School and for the opportunity to share the gospel with my friend. “Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.” (Ps 119:33) Natalia Fernandez Heng
Having attended less than 5 months of the Teens Sunday School, I am still adapting to the new classroom and classmates. I have seen the big difference between Children’s Sunday School and Teens Sunday School. I have enjoyed the Teens Sunday School and hope to learn more things of God. I look forward to the future Sunday School lessons and hope to have more fellowship times with my peers. I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to reaffirm my faith publicly. It has been a fun journey traveling everywhere to tell my friends about God. I know that all this would not have been possible if it weren’t for God’s mercy and grace. Praise the Lord! Andrea Lim
Teens Sunday School is truly a place where Christian teens are being warned of the sinful lifestyle which the world encourages and supports. As most preachers mention, the teens are the easiest target for such a lifestyle because of non-Christian friends, peer pressure, curiosity, etc. And so, our concerned teachers have been sharing God’s Word with us from the Minor Prophets. These books are very appropriate because they have so many warnings of turning away from the “gods” which can cause me to stray away from Him. Even though the Minor Prophets were mainly directed to warn the Israelites in those days, it is wonderful to know that they are still very applicable to this day. Thus it encourages me to use God’s Word as the supreme authority in my life and help me when I am tempted, rebuke me when I commit sin and comfort me when tried. Thank and praise the Lord for Teens Sunday School and willing teachers. Theya B Lagapa
I have not attended the Teens Sunday School for long yet. In fact, it’s just a month since I came in from the Catechism Class. I think Teens Sunday School is where all the teens should go to after they’ve “graduated” from the Children’s Sunday School in order to learn God’s Word deeper and to continue to grow in Christ. Although we are learning from the Old Testament (Minor Prophets), we are taught that these precious lessons can be applied to our life today. I praise God for the lessons we learn in Teens Sunday School, so carefully taught by the teachers. Thessa B Lagapa
I thank God for allowing me to attend the Teens Sunday School to study God’s Word. Thank God for the faithful teachers teaching us the Minor Prophets and for the lessons learnt. I have learnt many lessons, such as how the Israelites were stubborn to change their idolatrous and sinful ways before they were captured and how they easily stopped when they met with opposition while rebuilding the temple after the captivity to build their own houses. It is my hope and prayer that I will apply these lessons into my life for God’s glory, such as by persevering in evangelizing to my friends. Jerald Tan
During Sunday school, I have learnt much about the Minor Prophets. Although these books were written in the Old Testament and a long time ago, the lessons can be very well applied to our daily lives, such as obeying God and putting Him first in our lives. I also learnt the many punishments God had meted out to the people of Israel, and yet at the same time the boundless mercies He had shown to them too. Every time I read the Minor Prophets, it opens my eyes to the graciousness of our Lord and His tender mercies. In my Christian life, I have seen the manifold blessings of the Lord and our Saviour despite myself sinning against Him time and time again. However, I have also been chastised by our Lord for times that I disobeyed, but I know that it is all to bring me closer to God. As He punished the people of Israel, it was also to make them move closer to Him. “(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.” (Deut 4:31) The Lord is good and merciful and all glory be to Him! I would like to give thanks for the Sunday school which I have been attending since very young. This year, in the Teens Sunday school, we studied the 12 Minor Prophets, from which I have learnt many valuable and important lessons which can be applied to my daily life. Some of the lessons that jumped out at me were lessons on spiritual adultery from the book of Hosea, on our holy and just God taken from Joel, and most recently, on hope, a lesson taken from the book of Zechariah. The Sunday school has been a blessing to my life as it has given me many warnings against sin and has guided me on how to live a life pleasing to God. I thank God for the Sunday school. Tai Dae Ern
Sunday School has been a great blessing from the Lord to enable me to learn much about His Word. I thank God for all the teachers that have been teaching the Teens Sunday School faithfully year after year ensuring that the next generation of our church is well founded on the Word of God. I truly have learnt many lessons from the weekly teachings and am glad that I was able to apply many to my life. All in all, I am thankful to God for providing this channel through which I and my fellow young Christians can continually learn precious lessons from God’s fully inspired and perfectly preserved Word.
