MORE SALVATION TESTIMONIES

Chastising Me, Calling Me

My father is a Buddhist and my mother is a Christian. When I was a young boy, I went to both the temple and church. As most of us would already know, Buddhists practise the burning of hell notes to the deceased. In such a practice we can see that even in other religions there is no salvation for what they believe in and all who worship these idols will end up in hell. It was only when I was in primary 4 when I decided I should not be worshipping these idols.

I was baptised in 2001 by our late founding pastor Rev Timothy Tow. However, not long after that I fell, and went back to the world. I am embarrassed to say that my Christian life was just about going to church on Sundays just to clock in my time, and then I would consider my Christian duty as done. My walk with Christ suffered even more when I was posted to Canada in 2008 to train for a year. There were no suitable churches that I could worship in that small town of Moose Jaw and even though I had my Bible sitting on the table, I never did find the time to pick it up to read it as often as I should. Despite having backslidden time and again, God has been very gracious and merciful towards me, chastising me and calling me to return to Him.

I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to attend the Young People’s Fellowship camp last year. Through it my walk with Christ strengthened. I now see that the joy Christ Jesus gives is much sweeter than what the world can offer.

It is my desire to have my church membership transferred to True Life BPC and stand by the perfectly inspired and preserved words of God. There is this phrase “to err is Human”. Yes, we can fail God, but God cannot fail us. This is why we now have the perfectly preserved words of God in our hands. Matthew 24:35 says, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” All praise and glory be to God! Richmond Go

I Found Solid Doctrine

It was in May 1979 when I was still in the Navy that I met a guy who spoke to me about Christianity and I became interested. A few months later I was baptised, but it was done without knowledge. There was no catechism class for new converts. I was in a Charismatic church. I think the Charismatic church believes in short cuts. I was in this Charismatic church from 1979-1993. During those years, my spiritual life was up and down. I was not consistent. Also I did not attend other churches.

I married my wife in 1994. She bore me a loving son. Then I started to feel troubled within myself because I found I was not helped in my spiritual life in the Charismatic church. When I moved to Woodlands nine years ago, I started to attend New Life Church. Lately, my friend recommended True Life Church. And I found solid doctrine and my spiritual life started to grow.

Lastly, I wish my family and I will serve the Lord obediently with the church leaders’ guidance. Jeremy Seow

I Could Not Stop Reading the Bible

For many years in Hong Kong, I thought Jesus Christ was a Westerner and a religious leader from western countries. I did not really understand what Christianity was. Sometimes I would follow my sisters to attend church, but most of the time only for fun and celebrations.

In 1988, I came to work in Singapore. I was introduced to Jesus Christ. I was really touched by Christ and was baptised few months later. I finished reading the Chinese Bible in about six months. Once I opened the Bible, I could not stop reading it because I felt like God was speaking to me. I found this Book totally different from other books. I never read a book talking about creation of the world and the destruction of the world, and that there will be a new heaven and new earth one day. The more I read about Jesus, the more I knew how wonderful His love is. We humans are so small and weak like dust, but Jesus came to suffer and die for us. He came and fulfilled all the commandments and prophecies in the Old Testament. Jesus has set a good example for us to follow in the New Testament. The Bible is perfect from God.

I thank God for walking with me through all the trials and difficulties, and giving me strength when I am weak. May God’s love bind us together. Bonnie Au

My Life Would Not Be Good Without God

I was born into a Christian family and have been attending church since I was young. Attending church gave me many good morals and let me know more about God. But I never really understood about God’s love for me. It was when I was older that I started to understand His love for me. He would comfort me when I am down and lift me up when I fall.

I know God has really helped me in my life. He has helped me find wonderful friends who help me when I have problems and much more. As a student, one of my biggest issues would be studies and examinations. Whenever I am stressed from studying, I can find relaxation from God. God has also helped me get into the secondary school I wanted to go to. Without Him, I don’t think my life would be good.

I just started to attend True Life B-P Church this year. I came here because my parents decided to come here and I had to follow them. I like this church a lot and look forward to come each Sunday. For me, the most important thing is that Jesus came to our world as a human being and died for us all. He is powerful and great and is a Saviour to me. He is the only way for salvation and I believe Him. God has made me to be a better person and guided me in my life. God has given me many blessings and helped me when I needed help.

May God continue to keep me away from sin and temptation, help me be more holy and faithful and to grow in True Life B-P Church. Kelvin Seow

I Heard about the End of the World

I was born to a Christian family and attending church was just a normal routine.During my childhood days, I attended a Christian kindergarten which should lead me closer to God but the truth was far from it. It was all about learning the basics to get to primary school, play acting and story time.

When I was eight years old, I heard about the end of the world and that all things must come to an end one day. I had questions like: How was the world going to end? When will it end? What will become of us? This frightened me.

From that day on, all the stories that were told to me throughout the years about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit came rushing back to my memory bank. The promise of everlasting life throughout eternity, the resurrection of Jesus Christ after being crucified, who came to this world, who will one day take us all to a place that has no more tears. There wouldn’t be any A1 grades to achieve. There isn’t any need for tons of money to get eternal life. Our Lord Jesus Christ has done all the things needed for us to have eternal life, and it is only by believing in the Bible that God has inspired and by faith alone that we can be saved. From then on, our journey begins. As we live in this world there will always be benchmarks, targets and goals to meet, but we know that all these are temporal, for knowing God is forever. THANKSGIVING FROM YANGON

12 April 2013

Dear Pastor Jeffrey,

I greet you in the blessed name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thank God our summer holidays have just begun. Last week, we started having Bible studies again with Rev Biak Lawm Thang. We have also completed the Vacation Bible School organised by Elder John Leong and his team from Tabernacle BPC for all of us here at the New Life Orphan Centre (NLOC). We have been blessed.

The children know more of God’s love and they also love the Lord more, and they set an example of how Christians should live among unbelievers. It is because of your love and concern for NLOC, not only for our spiritual life but also for our physical life. You pray for NLOC and give love gifts. With your love gifts NLOC has been running well and fruitful till today. Praise God.

We all here always pray for you and for True Life BPC and FEBC. May God bless you!

Yours in Christ, Brother Thangno
