INDONESIA: GAPPI Gethsemane
Shobastian graduated from Far Eastern Bible College in 2018. A year after returning to serve in GAPPI Batam (Calvary Batam Bible-Presbyterian Church), Shobastian started a ministry for the children and youths in Aviari, less than 30 minutes’ drive from GAPPI Batam.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shobastian used his gifts to start online worship services for the youths in Aviari and for GAPPI Gethsemani, another church located about 5km away.
Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” By God’s providence, the Board of Elders in GAPPI Gethsemani invited Shobastian to fill the vacancy for a resident preacher there, a role he has served in since 27 September 2020.
GAPPI Gethsemani has a young and growing congregation of 30-50 worshippers. True Life BPC supports Preacher Shobastian and a full-time Church administrator for the work of the Lord in Batam.
